His presentation focused on a catalyzed oxidation pathway via P&P’s platinum-promoted honeycomb catalyst technology that enables the direct conversion of diluted H₂S gas streams to SO₃ and sulfuric acid, offering a compelling alternative to conventional multi‑step sulfur routes. By combining direct acid production with tail gas treatment in a single, compact system, the technology allows a higher energy recovery, reduced emissions, and increased operational flexibility.
The concept demonstrates how fully catalytic conversion, proven in industrial operation, can reduce CAPEX and OPEX while enabling ultra‑low or even zero‑emission plant configurations.
