Driving Efficiency in customers Scrubber Systems

24.04.2026

P&P Industries is conducting a study on behalf of a customer to evaluate and optimize the performance of their scrubber system.

This study outlines an optimization strategy for scrubber systems used to reduce waste gas emissions from tanks and reactor suction lines. Using an integrated approach - including Aspen Plus rate-based simulation, sensitivity analyses, and expert evaluation - the work identifies ways to improve system performance within existing plant limits.

The focus lies on increasing operational efficiency and maximizing nitric acid (HNO₃) removal while meeting emission standards. Several configuration options were assessed, such as scrubber column design, internals (packing vs. trays), pressure drop strategies, and cooling water concepts, to determine cost effective solutions that balance performance and investment.

The results offer a solid, data driven basis for lowering both CAPEX and OPEX and include practical recommendations to support implementation and long-term system reliability. Expert support is available to guide stakeholders through evaluation and execution of these optimization measures.

If you are interested in assessing how the efficiency of your scrubber system can be further enhanced, we would welcome the opportunity to support you in this evaluation.
